The northern half of the Côte d’Or is home to some of the world’s greatest Pinot Noir terroir, and the world’s most expensive wine – Domain de la Romanée-Conti’s Romanée-Conti Grand Cru.

Simply put, these are the finest examples of Pinot Noir in the world and all bar two of Burgundy’s Pinot Noir Grand Cru vineyards live in the Côte de Nuits (and none of the Chardonnay Grand Crus). These wines are sublime, with prices to match.

But great value can be found as some Village and Premier Cru level wines can be the equal of, and in the odd vintage even exceed, the heights of the Grand Crus.
