The Margaine Vineyard is located near the village of Villers-Marmery – an island of Chardonnay in a sea of Pinot Noir. Arnaud Margaine is a fourth-generation grower-producer, producing elegant styles of Champagne, often at a fraction of the price of better known labels. It’s why we love the range so much. The ‘Le Brut’ is a 88% Chardonnay, 12% Pinot Noir blend that has all the hallmarks of the domaine; crisp acidity, lovely citrus and apple flavours, and gentle, precise winemaking that more than complements the meticulous work in the vineyard.

Phil says: “Grower Champagne as a category is growing in both popularity and acclaim and for very good reason. This might be the entry level, but Arnaud doesn’t miss a beat. Perfectly balanced wine, great mix of flavours: citrus and apple from the fruit; brioche and almond from the winery; cream from the 24 months on lees. Wrapped up in a perfect fine bead of bubbles and a long, generous finish.” Read more
