Clonakilla needs little introduction. Established by Dr John Kirk in 1972 as one of the first commercial vineyards in the Canberra District, Clonakilla shot to fame off the back of their flagship Shiraz Viognier wines in the 1990s and have not looked back.
This Sauvignon Blanc Semillon has been a staple of the Clonakilla range for decades, using fruit sourced from some of the region’s premier vineyards to produce a wine that leaps of the glass with aromas, yet shows refinement and constraint on the palate.
“Very pale lemon colour with great intensity to the aromas of lychee, passionfruit, lemon and lime zest with some beautiful florals. The palate just sings with a backbone of citrus and tropicals and a long, dry finish and crunchy acidity. A very good example of the style and just cries out for a second glass.”
