A special offer for FWC customers – a cracking aged Semillon from the Canberra District – yes, Canberra. Great acidity and white stonefruit characters are the hallmark here, with the wine showing a hint of bottle age. Drink now, or hold on and watch it develop over the next few years.
Semillon from Canberra as a single varietal wine is not something I can say I’ve heard of before – but it works. A little riper than one might expect, especially when compared with the more familiar Hunter Valley wines, but that just adds to its charm. White nectarine and peach dominate the palate, balanced acidity and moderate alcohol, with some great aged characters of toast and honey just starting to show themselves. Great value for a five year old Semillon at $15 a bottle by the case.
