Yep… I know another Canberra district shiraz… but let’s be honest it’s hard to beat it here. My mother says this is a wine you can sit in front of the fire, with a good book and a box of chocolates and devour both in one sitting because not finishing is just rude. Showing black currant and spicy plum aromatics and rounded rich flavours, put it aside for a few years it’ll get better, trust me! You know what, ditch the book, I think it should be just you, the fire and the wine… let’s be honest this wine is for numbing that existential crisis brought on by the flames.
Cool climate Syrah at it’s best. Simple stuff. Black pepper spice and dark red fruits are here in abundance, tannins and structure to match. It really is the perfect winter wine, if ever there can be such a thing. Plus Jake’s tasting notes (described above) are a thing of beauty themselves.
